The largest real estate deal in Kiryat Shmona since the start of the war: Bank Leumi sold the building that was hit by a missile. Chef Israel Aharoni revealed a new restaurant is on the way, Arkia will continue to fly Hapoel Tel Aviv, and the Femina group is entering the home fashion field.
Exclusive: Bank Leumi building in Kiryat Shmona hit by a missile sold for 5.4 million shekels
The commercial building of Bank Leumi in Kiryat Shmona was sold during Operation "Lion's Roar" for 5.43 million shekels (including VAT) — the largest commercial transaction signed in the city since the outbreak of the Iron Swords War. The building sustained a direct missile hit, which, according to real estate experts, caused a 50% decrease in its value. The buyer is a local businessman.
The bank decided to move its operations to a smaller branch. The property spans approximately 874 square meters over three floors on a 300-square-meter plot on Tel Hai Street (Highway 90). During the war, the branch's operational space was reduced by one floor due to the missile strike.
The broker for the deal, Shai Azulay from Peko Real Estate, says: "The combination of the security situation and the complex environment in Kiryat Shmona made this sale a unique challenge. We had to find a buyer who believes in the city and its development process, and tailor the best deal around him."
Azulay estimates the property's value before October 2023 was around 9 million shekels, but the final price is considered relatively high for the current market. The property is unique in the city center with a main road frontage, offering the buyer economic potential for future rentals.
Mayor Avichai Stern commented: "Everything you see today is just the beginning. There is still a lot of work, projects, and revolutions on the way. Kiryat Shmona will be the place everyone will want to be. We are the Nvidia of ten years ago."

After opening two branches of Aharoni's Fried Chicken in Tel Aviv and Glilot, chef Israel Aharoni launched a pink food truck at the Ofer Bilu Center complex. The chef announced he will soon open a new restaurant in the Florentin neighborhood of Tel Aviv, featuring indoor seating and delivery services.
Sports
The airline Arkia has signed a new contract with the basketball club Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv for the 2026/27 season, totaling 2.5 million dollars. Arkia will continue to serve as the club's official carrier for Euroleague and WINNER League games, with its logo appearing on player jerseys and LED screens at home games.

The Femina group is launching a new home fashion brand called liminal. The investment is estimated at about 3 million shekels, with the first store opening in September at the Azrieli Ayalon Mall in Ramat Gan. The group aims to open 10-15 stores within three years.
Owners and co-CEOs Dror Blumenstock and Ori Gur stated: "We have identified a growing need in the home and leisure clothing market. The name liminal means 'threshold' — the moment when you leave the outside world, arrive home, and change into home clothes."
New appointments
Dror Morad has been appointed CEO of the Poliron group, replacing the retiring Kobi Poda. Morad previously served as CEO of Ofek Aerial Photography.
