Political Echelon and Chief of Staff Clarify Open-Fire Regulations

This evening, Thursday, information was published regarding a meeting between the political echelon and Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir. The discussion focused on open-fire regulations and restrictions applied to IDF soldiers in the Gaza Strip. "Removing a threat is the duty of every soldier," Zamir emphasized in a conversation with General Staff officers.

Following several days of provocations by Hamas and a report by News 14 regarding operational restrictions in the Strip, a situation assessment was held this morning at the General Staff. Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir clarified the new directives from the political echelon to the officers.
