The failure in Qusra: 100 activists evacuated, outpost demolished - but no one arrested
Golani and Border Police forces evacuated about 100 right-wing activists from Qusra, but none were arrested despite clashes and damage to local infrastructure. The IDF demolished the outpost and is reviewing disciplinary measures against reservists who acted against orders.
The events in Qusra: A battalion of the Golani Brigade and units of the Border Police have been securing the village of Qusra since Wednesday night to prevent Jewish extremist activists from reaching the area. During the night, forces evacuated approximately one hundred activists. IDF sources admit that despite the severity of the actions—which included besieging the homes of three families and sabotaging electricity and water systems—none of those involved were arrested.
The IDF and police limited their response to removing the activists, despite the fact that they were in a closed military zone and had confronted security forces. Concurrently, the IDF deployed tractors to demolish the illegal outpost, which consisted of several tents and basic supplies.
The IDF Spokesperson stated that security forces demolished two illegal outposts in Area B, on the outskirts of Qusra and Jalud, and confiscated the equipment found on-site. One Israeli was detained. Following a situation assessment, fighters from the 51st Battalion of the Golani Brigade were deployed to the Samaria Brigade area to conduct defense and patrol missions.

Central Command Chief Major General Avi Bluth declared the area around Qusra a closed military zone. The IDF has installed concertina wire fencing to hinder and prevent the arrival of extreme right-wing activists.
By order of Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, additional Golani forces were dispatched to the village yesterday evening. The IDF has expressed dissatisfaction with the conduct of certain reserve soldiers previously operating in the area; video footage shows soldiers, who were sent to evacuate the outpost, praying alongside the activists. The IDF intends to hold a disciplinary court for the reservists who acted against orders. Golani and Border Police units are expected to remain in the area for the coming weeks to maintain security.
