National Insurance Institute: How to claim rental assistance you may not know you are entitled to

The National Insurance Institute published a reminder today regarding a joint initiative with the Ministry of Construction and Housing, aimed at assisting citizens in identifying their eligibility for rental assistance.

The official statement reads:

"You might not have known, but we have established a first-of-its-kind cooperation with the Ministry of Construction and Housing to ensure no eligible citizen misses out on the assistance they are entitled to. We have identified benefit recipients who qualify for support and have ensured that SMS messages were sent to them with details on how to claim this right."

As part of this initiative, joint staff work was conducted to identify individuals whose current benefits qualify them for rental assistance from the Ministry of Construction and Housing. Following this identification process, direct notifications were sent to potential recipients.

According to the National Insurance Institute, SMS messages will be sent to approximately 40,000 citizens identified as potentially eligible. The purpose of these messages is to encourage the realization of rights and provide clear instructions on how to proceed.

The messages direct potential recipients to submit an application online. Alternatively, citizens can contact one of the branches of the Ministry of Construction and Housing's registration companies, which provide services regarding housing assistance.

It was further stated that this initiative is expected to become a permanent part of the Ministry of Construction and Housing's ongoing operations. Consequently, notifications regarding the realization of rights will continue to be sent in the future to citizens identified by the system as potentially eligible.
