Former Mossad chief: 'We visited the Fordow nuclear site many times'

Former Mossad chief Yossi Cohen spoke on Tuesday at the Galilee Conference and revealed details regarding Israeli activity at the Fordow nuclear site. 'We visited the site in Fordow many times in order to understand it,' he said.

He addressed the bombing of the nuclear site during Operation 'Am Kavia' in June 2025 by the United States military:

'The bombing of the site by the Americans is the fulfillment of all my dreams.'

He also commented on the pace of uranium enrichment by the regime in Tehran, claiming that '60 percent enriched uranium is still far from a bomb.'

On June 22 of last year, US President Donald Trump made a statement regarding the American strikes in Iran:

'The American military carried out precise and massive strikes on the three central nuclear facilities of the Iranian regime — Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. Our goal was the destruction of Iran's nuclear enrichment capability and the cessation of the nuclear threat posed by the world's number one sponsor of terrorism. Tonight, I can report to the world that the strikes were a spectacular military success. Iran's central nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally destroyed.'

Fox News reported that during the American attack on Fordow, six bunker-buster bombs were dropped, and 30 Tomahawk missiles were launched at other nuclear facilities. Later, it was revealed on ynet that Trump's statement was not accurate. The facilities were indeed damaged, but no intelligence officer believed that the Iranian nuclear program had been terminated.

Just two days after Trump's announcement, The New York Times published an internal Pentagon intelligence report. The report contradicted the president's version, determining that the damage to the facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan was far from final or absolute.
