Deni Avdija fell just shy of his career-worst turnover mark, committing eight turnovers during the Portland Trail Blazers' 124-118 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. Despite the miscues, the Israeli forward nearly posted his first triple-double of the season, finishing with 22 points, nine rebounds, and 11 assists.

The game turned dramatically in the closing seconds of the first half when Portland surrendered a 13-point lead. Avdija committed an offensive foul on a fast break, leading to a Lakers three-pointer, a missed shot by the Trail Blazers, and a buzzer-beating half-court three from Luka Doncic that completely shifted the momentum.

Luka Doncic overwhelmed the Portland defense, erupting for a game-high 53 points. The Trail Blazers cycled through multiple defenders, including Scoot Henderson, Toumani Camara, and Deni Avdija, but failed to contain the Slovenian star as Los Angeles capitalized heavily on Portland's 24 total turnovers.

Meanwhile, veteran guard Jrue Holiday reached a major career milestone during the match, passing Steve Nash to move into 11th place on the all-time scoring list. A humorous post-game incident arose when Portland center Robert Williams attempted to secure the game ball for Holiday, only for a Lakers staff member to intercept the request due to league regulations.
