The hunt continues: Terrorist who held Rom Breslavsky and took part in release "ceremonies" eliminated
The terrorist, Mahmoud Fatair, participated in the release "ceremonies" of many hostages, including Moran Stella Yanai, Itay Regev, Raz Ben-Ami, and Ofir Engel. He was eliminated over the weekend in Deir al-Balah.
The IDF eliminated over the weekend a terrorist who participated in the October 7 attack, held Rom Breslavsky in captivity, and took part in hostage handover "ceremonies." This was announced today, Monday, by the IDF Spokesperson, who noted that the terrorist, Mahmoud Fatair, a Nukhba commander in the Central Camps Brigade of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, was eliminated in Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.
The terrorist was documented wearing the uniform of the PIJ terrorist organization during the release "ceremonies" of Amit Soussana, Ofir Engel, Moran Stella Yanai, Itay Regev, Liam Or, Raz Ben-Ami, and others.
The IDF Spokesperson stated:
"Recently, the terrorist attempted to promote terror plots against the forces and citizens of the State of Israel and was eliminated to remove the threat. Forces under the Southern Command are deployed in the area and will continue to act to neutralize any threat."
About a month ago, Breslavsky told ynet about the anxieties, torture, and humiliation from captivity that still return to him in nightmares months after his release. During his time in Gaza, Rom went through a long series of tortures. He said that the vicious and cruel humiliations he endured managed to break him. For example, when the terrorist forced him to open his mouth and spat inside.
"You get used to the beatings," he says. "But that humiliation, that was my lowest moment in captivity."
He spent long days tied by his hands and feet, often completely naked. For hours, he was forced to stand facing a wall, blindfolded, with stones stuck in his ears. "Every so often they would come in and whip my feet with a donkey whip," he recalled. "My feet were purple. I could barely stand."
Once, after 28 days without a shower, he begged them to let him clean himself. The terrorist told him to prepare for a shower, then returned with a bucket full of sand and trash and forced him to pour it all over himself. "They wanted to make me feel like an animal," said Rom.
