Adi's tracks have disappeared, her son fears: "She is in contact with a person who was harassing her systematically"
After contact with Adi Koren (59) from Ramat Gan was lost on Monday, her son Roy filed a missing person report with the police the next day. The son stated that his mother, who has mental health challenges, had never gone missing before. He drew the investigators' attention to a "problematic relationship" with one of her acquaintances: "They have not exhausted this direction." The police: "Investigative actions are being carried out alongside searches to locate the missing person."
Adi Koren, a 59-year-old woman with mental health challenges from Ramat Gan, was seen two days ago at a pizzeria in Givatayim, and her tracks have since disappeared. Her son, Roy, asked for help in locating her in a conversation with ynet:
"According to what the police were able to provide based on location tracking and credit card usage, she was at 'Pizza Porto' in Givatayim on Monday at 16:10. I spoke to her shortly before that. She tried to reach me at 16:53, and at 17:10 I called her back and the phone was unavailable. She was last seen on WhatsApp at 16:59."
Roy said that although his mother has mental health challenges, she was always available: "Mom would answer even in her sleep. She knows my phone number, my sister's, and her mother's by heart. There is no reason she wouldn't call us if something happened to her phone." The son filed a complaint with the police the next day.
"Already in the middle of the night between Monday and Tuesday I started to worry, but I told myself that she sometimes doesn't sleep at home. But she called three times within 10 minutes and that was unusual. In the morning I started to worry for real, and by noon we started losing it. My grandmother is in a bad mental state."
Roy added: "She has not gone missing in the past; in the last year she was very stable and vital. She was living at my grandmother's with her partner. She is very immersed in her own bubble. In her day-to-day life, she goes shopping and treats herself." According to the son, Adi has several friends who also have mental health challenges.
"She is very private about these friends, and that is mainly the direction that worries us. She is in contact with transient and random people, and regarding one of them, it is unclear what the nature of their relationship is. He would harass her systematically, and they are friends on and off. There is a very problematic connection there, and as I understand it, the police have yet to exhaust this direction."
The son also said that he reported that problematic connection to the police, but according to him, the investigators have yet to exhaust this direction: "From everything I manage to glean from them, they haven't reached him yet. They also haven't reached the security cameras to see what happened there at the pizzeria. I am really worried that something happened because it is very uncharacteristic of her to disappear like this."
The police responded: "Upon receiving the report, an investigation was opened, within which investigative actions are being carried out alongside searches to locate the missing person. The police are in constant contact with the family members and continue to exhaust all lines of investigation. Naturally, we cannot comment on the details of the investigation."
In the police statement regarding the disappearance of Adi Koren, it was stated that "she left her home on Einstein Street in Ramat Gan on Monday and her tracks have since disappeared. Description: 1.70 meters tall, light hair, clothing description unknown. Anyone who knows anything about her whereabouts is requested to contact the 100 hotline of the Israel Police."
