The Eden Ben Zaken storm continues: lawsuits, calls for a boycott, and drama on "The Voice"
The arrival of the Netanyahu couple at the singer's concert sparked sharp reactions on social media, and now a demand is being organized to remove her from the TV show on Reshet 13, alongside threats of a lawsuit from protest leaders.
While dozens of flights were canceled and thousands of passengers were stuck for long hours at Ben Gurion Airport due to the massive strike, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara found the time to attend a concert by singer Eden Ben Zaken together, where they were received with applause from the audience.
The arrival of the couple seemed to be a complete surprise for the singer, who quickly turned to the audience:
"We have a special guest, I would even say an honorary guest. I want you to show a lot, a lot of respect to the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, and his wife Sara."
Netanyahu, holding a microphone in his hand, replied to the singer: "How fun it is to be with you here today with our wonderful people. And how fun it is to be with you, Eden." Addressing the audience, the Prime Minister added: "You are proving that the people of Israel live. The people of Israel are strong and the people of Israel are happy."
Ben Zaken greeted the two again and even invited Netanyahu to her joint Hanukkah show with Eyal Golan: "Dear Mr. Prime Minister, it is good that you are with us. We love you, Benjamin Netanyahu, thank you very much."
However, the event sparked a sharp reaction among many of the concert guests and people on social media. Ami Dror, an entrepreneur and high-tech figure, one of the leaders of the "Brothers for Justice" protests, launched a severe attack against Ben Zaken and declared:
"We are suing Eden Ben Zaken! Easy money for everyone who was at her concert yesterday!"
And it really does not end there. Ben Zaken, who is currently a judge on "The Voice" on Reshet 13, would not believe how big the storm surrounding the Prime Minister's arrival at her show would be, to the point that a petition was opened calling for Ben Zaken to be removed from the reality show. In an advertisement circulating on social media, it was written: "We demand to remove Eden Ben Zaken from the judge's chair on The Voice. Whoever chooses to give a stage to Netanyahu should also bear the public price."
