Police request help in locating Katriel Nachman Kinan, who disappeared in Tiberias: "It is not like him to disappear"

News in brief: Katriel Nachman Kinan was last seen on Monday of last week at Guy Beach in Tiberias. His brother said he was spotted walking towards the tomb of Rabbi Meir Baal HaNes. The last phone triangulation was performed in the Guy Beach area on Monday evening. The family notes that the disappearance is not characteristic of him and fears for his life. The Israel Police requests the public's help in searching for 24-year-old Katriel Nachman Kinan, who was last seen on Monday of last week (10.08.26) at approximately 18:00 in the Guy Beach area in Tiberias. Kinan was apparently on his way to Safed, and his tracks have since disappeared. The Israel Police and his family express grave concern for his life, and today (Wednesday) searches are continuing in the Tiberias area.

Daniel Kinan, the missing person's brother, told N12 in a conversation about the last contact with his brother before he disappeared:

"I spoke with him last Sunday evening and he was on his way to Safed. He said there was a chance he would stop in Meron. He said he didn't have much battery left and there has been no contact since."

According to him, Kinan was supposed to meet with his rabbi on Monday at 10:00 AM, but he did not arrive at the meeting and did not coordinate a new time. The police investigation reveals that Kinan stayed on Mount Meron from Sunday night to Monday until the morning hours, and from there boarded a bus towards Safed. For an unclear reason, he arrived in Tiberias, where he was documented by security cameras at the central bus station walking towards the tomb of the Rambam, and from there continued on foot towards the tomb of Rabbi Meir Baal HaNes. Despite the documentation, the last phone triangulation of his device was performed on Monday evening at Guy Beach in the city.

Grave concern for his life:

"For over a week there has been no verified indication regarding him and there is grave concern for his life. We are turning over every stone. Searches will also go out today in the city of Tiberias. I am now on my way there to meet with the police officers conducting the investigation in an attempt to trace his route. It is not characteristic of him to disappear in such a way for such a long time."

Kinan is approximately 1.74 meters tall, has black hair, a beard, and brown eyes. When last seen, he was wearing a white shirt and a black suit, wearing a hat, and carrying a black backpack and a dark brown tefillin bag.
