At the forefront of the civil front: Reuven Pinsky says goodbye to the national service volunteers of "Mishpacha Echad"

This past weekend, a moving and meaningful moment was marked at the "Mishpacha Echad" organization, as a farewell meeting was held for Reuven Pinsky, the outgoing Director General of the National-Civic Service Authority. Pinsky chose to conclude his significant tenure with an open and emotional conversation with the national service volunteers who work at the organization and support widows, orphans, the severely wounded, and their families.

"They are responsible for the smiles and moments of joy"

The meeting was attended by the organization's chairman and founder, Marc Belzberg, and the organization's CEO, Moshe Swill. During the conversation, the volunteers shared with those present the complex reality in which they operate day by day: about the sensitive entry into families' homes, about creating deep and long-term connections, and about the profound feeling that sometimes it is the small things and the daily presence that make the biggest difference.

Pinsky, who has accompanied the national service for many years, was moved by the activity and defined it as one of the most significant and leading national service projects he has encountered. Referring to the volunteers' work, he wrote after the meeting:

"They are responsible for the smiles and moments of joy of thousands of orphans and widows of terror victims and the physically and mentally wounded."

The event also served as a fitting platform to say goodbye to the volunteers who are finishing their year of volunteering at the organization, and to express deep appreciation to Sarah, the volunteer coordinator, and the team of coordinators who accompany them with dedication throughout the year.

A support system that makes the difference

Moshe Swill, CEO of the "Mishpacha Echad" organization, emphasized the critical importance of the volunteers in the organization's fabric of work: "Our volunteers have a significant role in the ongoing accompaniment of families throughout the year. They create a personal and continuous connection, know the children and the family's needs closely, and are by their side in moments of routine, difficulty, and joy. Their constant presence makes them a significant part of the support system that the organization provides."

Swill added and acknowledged Pinsky's contribution along the way: "Over the years, Reuven has been a significant partner in our work and has known closely the unique contribution of the national service to the support system that the organization provides to families. We thank him for a long-standing partnership, for the commitment and support, and the volunteers for their dedication, responsibility, and their significant presence alongside the families."

"Mishpacha Echad"

The "Mishpacha Echad" organization is the central national organization in Israel that supports bereaved families and the wounded. The organization was founded 25 years ago by the couple Chantal and Marc Belzberg, and provides a broad support system that includes emotional support, individual and group therapy, strengthening psychological resilience, workshops, and financial support.

Since the events of October 7, the organization has dramatically expanded its activities in order to reach every new family affected, and to ensure personal and continuous support in their most difficult hours. Recently, in recognition of her many years of dedicated work for terror victims and war wounded in Israel, the organization's founder, Ms. Chantal Belzberg, was awarded the Israel Prize for Lifetime Achievement.
