Daughter of legendary news anchor Yaakov Ayalon to host new TV show
Aya Ayalon, a News 13 anchor and daughter of veteran broadcaster Yaakov Ayalon, has successfully piloted a new program alongside Tal Shanav. The show is expected to premiere in the coming months.

Aya Ayalon, a News 13 anchor and daughter of veteran news anchor Yaakov Ayalon, is expected to lead a new program on the channel, Gil Mishali reported today on Mako.
Ayalon joined News 13 at the end of 2025, following her service at Galei Tzahal, where she served as a foreign news correspondent, program editor, and news flash presenter. Recently, she conducted a pilot for a new broadcast slot alongside presenter Tal Shanav, who left the channel about two years ago.
According to sources familiar with the details, the pilot was successful. The new slot is expected to focus on soft current affairs and be scheduled before the central edition of News 13. The program is expected to launch in the coming months as part of the changes currently taking place at the channel and the news company.
21-year-old Aya Ayalon began her career at News 13 as a correspondent and news anchor. Her father, Yaakov Ayalon, is one of the most prominent news anchors in Israel and was the first central news anchor for Channel 10, which later merged with Reshet 13.
Upon joining the channel in November, Ayalon said she was excited and happy to join the journalists of News 13, and that she hopes to fulfill the mission successfully. News 13 CEO Tali Ben-Ovadia welcomed her at the time and noted that her father had anchored historical broadcasts that she had edited in the past.
Reshet 13 stated to Mako: "We do not comment on programs in development."
