The Israel Electric Corporation is preparing for the opening of the school year: about 270 educational institutions will be connected to the power grid by September 1st. The government-owned company is currently completing approximately 270 new electricity connections and upgrades to existing infrastructure in educational institutions across the country, ahead of the start of the 5787 school year.

Preparations began at the beginning of the year, upon receiving requests from local authorities and educational institutions. More than half of the connections have already been completed, and work in the remaining facilities is in advanced stages and is expected to be finished by September 1st.

To ensure the work is completed on time, the Israel Electric Corporation has concentrated the necessary resources, coordinating with local authorities and prioritizing educational institutions ahead of the school year.

Sharli Shariki, VP of Network Services at the Israel Electric Corporation, said:

"The employees of the Israel Electric Corporation have been working for months across the country, in cooperation with local authorities, to complete the connections and necessary work to enable the opening of the school year as planned. This is a task that requires early planning, concentration of resources, and intensive work in a short period, and we are committed to completing it before the students enter the classrooms. I wish the students of Israel and the educational staff a successful, productive, and safe school year."
