The beloved restaurant chain is going bankrupt: trust is damaged, 70 branches are closing permanently

The popular restaurant chain from Arizona, Salad And Go, is closing its doors permanently after filing for bankruptcy. The chain, which was founded in 2013 and operated 70 drive-in branches in Arizona and Nevada, will serve its customers for the last time this coming Wednesday.

"This is a painful day for everyone who built, worked at, and loved Salad And Go," said the chain's CEO, Mike Tattersfield, to AZFamily. "We are proud of what we built together and are grateful to every team member, guest, and partner who believed in this."

In the company's announcement, it was explained that despite the loyalty the chain enjoyed, the business could not overcome ongoing pressure in consumer demand, growth challenges, and rising operating costs. Additionally, it was stated that the Cyclospora outbreak last July — although the chain was not involved in it — severely damaged consumer trust in the entire industry. This closure follows a series of difficulties, including the closure of branches in Texas and Oklahoma in January, and the closure of over 40 additional branches in September 2025.

The founders of the chain, who left in 2021 and currently manage the "Angie's" chain, expressed deep sorrow on Instagram: "We started with the belief that delicious and healthy food should be accessible to everyone... Seeing the company close is simply heartbreaking. We are grateful to those who believed in our crazy mission."
