Channel 13 Dismisses Veteran Panelist: "Violent Bullying"
In recent months, Itamar Eitam was a regular panelist on the program hosted by Moriah Asraf and Eyal Berkovich. However, following a behind-the-scenes confrontation, the channel decided to end his participation.
Itamar Eitam had recently been a regular fixture on the panel of the program hosted by Moriah Asraf and Eyal Berkovich on Channel 13. However, on Wednesday, he shared in a video posted to his X page that the channel decided to end his participation in its programs following a sharp and stormy confrontation that took place behind the scenes.
Eitam spoke openly about the sequence of events leading to his dismissal, explaining that the background was a direct confrontation with Eyal Nave, one of the leaders of the "Brothers in Arms" protest movement. "Let's start from the end," Eitam began.
"Channel 13 decided to kick me out of their broadcasts," he said. "Those who follow know that in recent months I have been hosted quite often as a panelist on the program with Moriah and Berko. I decided to be there because I thought it was right to maintain communication even in less comfortable places and to talk to other audiences."
According to him, the trigger was a frontal confrontation with Nave during the broadcast:
"The trigger was a confrontation with the head of the refusers, Eyal Nave. I called him a 'refuser' on air, and apparently it touched a sensitive point for him—maybe shame, maybe guilt, I don't know."
Eitam noted that the major drama occurred after the cameras were turned off: "Immediately at the end of the broadcast, in a segment that was not seen on television, he burst out at me with terrible screams: 'You eat death, and your father eats death.' This caused a commotion in the studio, and the presenter Moriah Asraf expelled him from the place for these despicable words."
Eitam expressed surprise that, despite the behavior he described in the studio, the channel decided to dismiss him as well: "In the name of 'holy symmetry,' they decided to dismiss and throw me out too."
"This violent bullying will not deter or paralyze us," Eitam stated, adding that he does not intend to remain silent. "We will continue to speak and reach the people of Israel through other channels and platforms. I now have a few free evenings, and I would be happy to come and be hosted anywhere to talk about the war, the strengths we have, and the ability to grow from the pain. Moving forward."
