Hashmonaim Brigade fails to meet recruitment goals for next cycle
Expecting a large-scale recruitment, the Haredi brigade prepared to open two companies and assembled double command teams. However, data reaching the IDF indicated only about 100 recruits, leading to the decision to open only one company.
The IDF did not authorize the Hashmonaim Brigade to open two companies for the upcoming draft, it was learned this Wednesday. Aiming to demonstrate a significant recruitment volume, the brigade attempted to open two companies, but it was already known that the expected number of recruits was insufficient to staff them.
The IDF received data indicating that only about 100 soldiers are expected to enlist in the Hashmonaim Brigade, and consequently decided not to allow the opening of two companies.
The brigade had prepared with two company commanders and two command teams, but in light of the recruitment data being lower than expected, it was decided to open only one company for the upcoming draft. It should be noted that although this is a lower number than the brigade anticipated, it still represents an increase in recruitment volume compared to previous cycles. Nevertheless, the number of recruits is not sufficient at this stage to justify the opening of an additional company.
