Bank Hapoalim invests over 500,000 shekels to revitalize Kiryat Shmona

Bank Hapoalim continues its efforts to assist in the rehabilitation of the Northern region and announces a significant move in Kiryat Shmona: a donation of over 500,000 shekels for the restoration and operation of a community and cultural project at Hermon Square — the historical heart of the city, which suffered severe damage following the war.

The prolonged war in the North has led to the departure of residents, a significant reduction in traffic in the city center, the closure of businesses, and a weakening of community resilience. These trends hinder the rehabilitation of the urban center and constitute a real barrier to the return of residents and businesses to routine in Kiryat Shmona. In light of the situation, the "Poalim LeTkuma" fund of Bank Hapoalim has partnered with the "HaHalutz" association and the "Merkaza Tzafon - Kiryat Shmona" association to create a permanent physical anchor that will bring community and economic life back to the city center.

As part of the move, the "Mona" complex was established in the heart of Hermon Square — a permanent community space including a cafe and a shared workspace, which will serve as a daily hub for activity. At the same time, a series of cultural events was launched under the title "Live Thursday at the Square." The series, which will include 12 events, will offer live performances, activities for the whole family, and a local night market where stalls will be set up by businesses from Kiryat Shmona that were severely damaged during the war.

Among the local businesses already expected to participate and set up stalls at the first events are "Menashe Beverages," "Giggs Entrecote Bar," "Falafel Binyamin," and "Lev HaIr Minimarket." The project aims to provide a stage, financial support, and exposure to as many local businesses as possible.

The "Live Thursday at the Square" series will be officially launched tomorrow, Thursday, August 27, in a festive event open to the public with the participation of representatives from the management of the Kiryat Shmona branch of Bank Hapoalim. The opening event will include performances by "The Convoy Project" and the local band "Maayan G. and the Guys," and all residents of the region are invited to attend and show their support.
