The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE), in cooperation with and sponsored by Bank Hapoalim, has announced the launch of the "Hapoalim Resilience Index." The new index, set to launch on September 10, 2026, is designed to promote public companies operating in the periphery that serve as vital growth engines for local economies and employment.

The index is expected to include 58 companies with a total market value of approximately 171 billion NIS. Included companies are located in local authorities at least 25 km from Tel Aviv, ranked in socio-economic clusters 1-6 by the Central Bureau of Statistics. The companies represent diverse sectors, most notably technology (24%), trade and services (24%), and industry (19%).

According to TASE data, back-tests show that since November 2023, the index has yielded an impressive total return of about 146%. Adi Dauber, Deputy CEO of Bank Hapoalim, noted that the move reflects the bank's commitment to assisting companies in accessing the capital market.

Yaniv Pagot, VP of the Trading, Derivatives and Indices Department at TASE, added:

"For the first time, indices are being used not only for measurement, but as an active tool to encourage economic development in the places that need it most. This move highlights the power of the capital market in channeling investments to communities far from the center, creating shared value for investors and the Israeli economy."
