Kobi Bor, former construction manager at Intel Israel and until recently CEO of TM Engineering and Construction, has been appointed to lead the construction project of Nvidia's massive development center in Kiryat Tiv'on. The project, named "Orion" by the chip giant, includes building a campus spanning up to 160,000 square meters on a 90-dunam plot purchased last year from the Israel Land Authority. It is expected to house up to 10,000 employees within a decade.

Bor, a civil engineering graduate from the Technion, spent 13 years at Intel Israel, including a decade managing the construction projects of manufacturing plants and development centers. Over the past seven years, Bor served as CEO of TM Engineering, which was involved in building the expansion of Intel Israel's chip plant in Kiryat Gat, including a wastewater treatment facility for the plant.

About two years ago, Intel's construction project was frozen due to cash flow difficulties, alongside the cancellation of other plants worldwide, such as in Poland and Germany. Under Bor's management, TM also engaged in constructing an office building for Mul Harim, a logistics center for Teva, and a desalination facility in the Western Galilee.

Last December, Nvidia announced its intention to establish a major development center in Kiryat Tiv'on after examining several other sites, such as Mevo Carmel and Kiryat Ata. However, plans regarding the project have not yet been submitted to the District Planning and Building Commission.
