Kimi Antonelli Wins F1 World Title to Make Italian Motorsport History
Kimi Antonelli has become the youngest Formula 1 world champion in history at age 20, ending Italy's 73-year wait for a title by finishing third at the Mexico City Grand Prix.

Italian motorsports history was rewritten as Kimi Antonelli secured the Formula 1 World Championship at just 20 years old, becoming the first Italian champion in 73 years and the youngest title-holder in the sport's history.
Antonelli sealed the championship with four races to spare after finishing third at the Mexico City Grand Prix. Max Verstappen won the race, while Lewis Hamilton took second place, but Antonelli's consistent performance throughout the season ensured an unassailable lead. Crossing the finish line, the young Italian broke down in tears of joy, later admitting that the overwhelming emotions nearly blinded him on the track.
F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali praised the historic achievement, noting that the nation had waited over seven decades for an Italian champion to reach the pinnacle of motorsport. Antonelli's journey to Mercedes under the guidance of Toto Wolff faced early skepticism, but the team's faith and a highly reliable car propelled the 20-year-old sensation to global glory.
