Katz: "We will not leave Gaza until Hamas is disarmed and tunnels are dismantled"
Defense Minister Israel Katz stated in an interview that Israel will not withdraw from security zones in Gaza, Syria, and Lebanon until all military objectives are achieved, including the destruction of Hamas's tunnel network.
Defense Minister Israel Katz addressed tensions with Iran, the war in the Gaza Strip, and the issue of security zones in a special interview on the program "The Patriots" this Sunday. Regarding the Iranian threat, Katz clarified that Israel will respond forcefully to any attempt at an attack.
"If Iran attacks Israel, it will receive a crushing blow," he said.
According to him, the public needs to be exposed to the achievements Israel has made against Iran, which he claims are not receiving sufficient media coverage.
Katz also emphasized that Israel does not intend to withdraw from security zones.
"We are not withdrawing from the security zones in Gaza, Syria, and Lebanon. The IDF must be on the other side," he said.
Later, the Defense Minister addressed the challenge of the tunnels in the Strip, stating that the dimensions of the underground infrastructure are much larger than estimates presented in the past. He dismissed previous claims regarding the destruction of the "Gaza metro" as inaccurate. Katz pledged that Israel will not leave the Strip before completing its military objectives.
"We are not moving from Gaza until Hamas is disarmed and the tunnels are dismantled," he declared.
Regarding the security situation in Judea and Samaria, Katz said: "The Prime Minister and I have instructed to check from which refugee camp the terror in Judea and Samaria originates – and to conquer it." He also addressed the case of Tal Yinon Dardik, noting that the individual insists on returning to a farm in Area B.
