Kan 11 reveals the 2026/27 season: A giant deal with Netflix

The Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation, Kan, has revealed the plans and major productions expected to hit the screen during the 2026 and 2027 season. The event included the presentation of new series, follow-up seasons to known successes, entertainment and reality shows, alongside new collaborations expected to expand the exposure of Israeli content beyond Israel.

One of the main announcements is the return of "Checkout" (Kupa Rashit) for a sixth season. The beloved comedy will return with the familiar characters, with one of the most intriguing episodes expected to be a special dedicated to election night in Israel.

"Tehran" is also returning for a fourth season. The Emmy-winning thriller series will continue to follow Tamar Rabinyan, played by Niv Sultan, with the plot expected to bring her into a new confrontation with threats in Iran and power struggles between the various actors in the region.

In the documentary field, "The One, The Next Generation" will arrive, the sequel to the project that dealt with the 201st Squadron. The season, led by Sima Kadmon, will deal with the fighter pilots and the events that began with the massacre of October 7, 2023, the war that developed afterwards, and the strike operations in Iran.

"HaPshutah" will also receive a second season. The comedy and satirical program by Bar Almaliach-Dontzov, Oshrat Sarusi, and Chen Rotman became a success on the web, and now it is receiving a continuation.

In the reality sector, "Double the Money" (Double Al HaKesef) was revealed, a new program hosted by Agam Rodberg. As part of the program, couples will compete to increase sums of money through business initiatives, with the final prize standing at 250,000 shekels.

"The Chase" (HaMirdaf) also continues for a tenth season, with Hila Korach and the team of chasers Itay Herman, Michal Sharon, and Shay Sandak.

On Kan Educational, "Little Bloom" will air, a new spin-off series based on the world of "Karamel," which will tell about the childhood of Mrs. Bloom, the character known to viewers as the main villain.

And in the international arena, Kan is expanding its content activity through a deal with Netflix. As part of the agreement, successful series of the corporation, including "Checkout," "Karamel," and "Home Alone" (Levad BaBayit), are expected to reach an international audience through the streaming service. The revenues from the deal are expected to be used for new original Israeli productions.

Eurovision 2027 is also in the plan. Kan will continue the collaboration with Keshet and Teddy Productions for the purpose of selecting the Israeli representative for the competition through "The Next Star" (HaKochav HaBa). The semi-finals and the final of the competition itself will be broadcast on Kan in May 2027.
