Security Guard Shoots and Seriously Wounds ATM Robbery Suspect in Jerusalem
A security guard shot and seriously wounded a 30-year-old suspect during an attempted ATM robbery in Jerusalem's Givat Shaul neighborhood. Police are investigating the criminal incident.
A shooting incident occurred on Sunday evening in the Givat Shaul neighborhood of Jerusalem. A man in his 30s was seriously wounded in the abdomen after attempting to rob an ATM. During the incident, a security guard was forced to open fire at the suspect. The wounded man was evacuated to the hospital, and large police forces are operating at the scene.
Attempted Robbery on Kanfei Nesharim Street
At 19:01, the MDA (Magen David Adom) 101 emergency dispatch center received a report of a wounded individual on Kanfei Nesharim Street in Jerusalem. MDA medics and paramedics provided medical treatment and evacuated the man, in serious condition with a penetrating injury, to Shaare Zedek Medical Center.
Shlomi Friedman, a volunteer with the 'Tzevet Hatzalah' rescue organization who was first to arrive at the scene, stated:
"When I arrived at the scene, I saw a man of about 30 suffering from a penetrating injury to his upper body after being hurt in a violent incident. Together with other MDA medics and paramedics, I provided him with initial medical aid, including bleeding control and dressings, and he was evacuated by an MDA intensive care unit in serious condition to the trauma room at Shaare Zedek Medical Center."
Police Investigation
According to the Israel Police spokesperson, officers from the Moriah station arrived at the scene. An initial investigation suggests that this was an attempted robbery during which the suspect was shot by one of the involved individuals. The police confirmed that the incident is criminal in nature, and forces are currently working at the scene to investigate the circumstances.
