IDF Commander Recounts Extreme Violence
The commander of the force deployed to the scene described unprecedented levels of aggression. According to testimonies, between 100 and 120 rioters gathered to block roads, burn tires, and hurl massive rocks at security forces. The attackers torched Palestinian vehicles and structures while smelling of alcohol and exhibiting clear intent to harm personnel.
We have never experienced such intense violence against combat forces. At some point, we ran out of riot dispersal means, and our lives were in immediate danger. Crossing this red line is completely unacceptable.
Arrests and Ongoing Investigation
According to the IDF, the riots erupted as extremists attempted to prevent a Palestinian family from returning to their home in Jalud after being forced out by prior nationalist crime incidents. Security forces arrested three suspects, including two minors aged 15 and 17 from the north and the Binyamin region, alongside an 18-year-old from Jerusalem whose vehicle contained masks and clubs.
