Defense Minister Israel Katz hinted during the program 'The Patriots' that he had ordered the cancellation of arrest warrants in the West Bank, but an officer with the rank of Aluf (Major General) in the IDF acted against those instructions. Panelist Itamar Fleischman harshly criticized the incident and called for the senior officer to be removed from his position.

The discussion developed around the question: is an Aluf in the IDF allowed to act against the policy set by the Minister of Defense? Fleischman clarified that the Minister of Defense has a clear policy and an Aluf in the IDF cannot defy it.

'Can we please fire him? Because he doesn't understand what democracy is?' asked Fleischman firmly. He added that an IDF officer must obey the minister's authority: 'He is an IDF officer; if you have a policy, he is subject to your authority. If he does not want to be subject to your authority, he is welcome to hand in his keys and run for politics. An Aluf in the IDF does not defy the Minister of Defense; this is bread and butter, I don't understand.'
