Israel and the US agreed: Hamas will be disarmed - and only then will the IDF withdraw

Following Benjamin Netanyahu's meeting with American administration officials and the Peace Council earlier today, a political source stated: "It was agreed that no withdrawal will be carried out without the disarmament of Hamas." In other words, the primary condition for any future step in Gaza will be the disarmament of Hamas, conducted under American supervision rather than that of mediating countries like Turkey and Qatar.

The political source noted that "Hamas will hand over the weapons for destruction under the supervision of the American General Jeffries," and in return, "freedom of action will be granted and maintained for the IDF in thwarting threats, including Nukhba forces." This contradicts the initial document of the Peace Council on the matter.

It was also agreed in the conversation with Jared Kushner, Nickolay Mladenov, and Tony Blair that the Peace Council will carry out sanitation and hygiene activities throughout the Strip. During the conversation, Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated that as long as Hamas's weapons are not destroyed, the IDF will remain on the yellow line and from there will defend Israel. Meanwhile, the fact that the three arrived directly from a meeting with senior Hamas officials in Egypt was not well received in Jerusalem, according to Israeli sources.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met in Jerusalem with American administration advisor Jared Kushner, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, and Peace Council CEO Nickolay Mladenov. The parties discussed the practical outline for regulating control over the Gaza Strip and disarming Hamas.

The four-way meeting took place in an attempt to present an applicable outline for managing Gaza that would address Israel's security requirements. At the center of the discussion was the 15-point agreement that the Prime Minister had previously rejected. Currently, representatives of the Peace Council and the American administration are trying to formulate agreements on the stages of implementation on the ground.

The emerging outline proposes transferring civil authorities in the Strip to a technocratic council and preparing infrastructure for the disarmament of Hamas. According to the plan, "pilot zones" free of Hamas will be established in the Rafah area and in the north of the Strip, similar to the model implemented in Lebanon. In these areas, temporary camps will be built for displaced residents, and education, health, and infrastructure services will be provided without the involvement of the terrorist organization.

To maintain order in the pilot zones, it is proposed to deploy an international force (ISF) within weeks. The force will be composed in the first stage of soldiers from Uganda and Kosovo, and later, soldiers from Morocco will also be integrated into it. Israel has previously expressed principled agreement to the move, but has not yet finalized the operational details and the powers of the force.

Alongside this, the plan includes the renewal of the ceasefire under previous conditions, which allow the IDF to fire at emerging threats and protect the forces located along the yellow line.

Kushner's arrival in Israel occurred after a meeting he held in the city of El Alamein in Egypt with a Hamas delegation and representatives from Qatar, Turkey, and Egypt. In these talks, Hamas representatives claimed to Kushner that they are willing to become a political party and accept the roadmap proposed by the Peace Council. Kushner clarified to them in response that the American administration demands the complete demilitarization of the Strip to prevent any future threat to Israel.
