Israel Railways Announces Schedule Changes and Increased Frequency
Israel Railways is updating its schedule starting September 4, 2026, adjusting weekend operating hours and increasing train frequency at several central stations to reduce congestion.
Israel Railways announced today, Sunday, a significant change to its operating hours. Starting Friday, September 4, 2026, the train schedule will be adjusted to align with the start and end of the Sabbath, as is the case annually. This includes updates to the end-of-service times on Fridays and the resumption of operations on Saturday nights.
According to Israel Railways, train service on Fridays will conclude between approximately 15:00 and 16:00, while service on Saturday nights will resume at approximately 21:00.
Furthermore, the company announced a significant increase in train frequency at the Ra'anana, Hod HaSharon - Sokolov, Kfar Saba - Nordau, Rosh HaAyin North, Bnei Brak, and Rishon LeZion Moshe Dayan stations. During certain peak hours, service will increase to four trains per hour to alleviate congestion. Additionally, three trains will be added to the Modi'in - Nahariya line schedule, operating Sunday through Thursday during evening hours.
