The Israel Police is preparing a four-million-shekel investment to purchase drones mounted on the roofs of patrol cars. The drones will be installed on 16 shift commanders' vehicles to provide aerial video feeds for command and control at incident scenes.

Following a vendor evaluation earlier this year, the police selected the Sigma 3 model manufactured by the Swiss company Photokite. Sixteen units will be purchased, as other tested drone models were deemed unsuitable for installation on moving vehicles.

According to the police, the drones are designed to allow shift commanders to monitor crowds more efficiently. Photokite, founded in 2014, specializes in developing drones used for law enforcement, firefighting, and security missions.
