Reality Star Israel Deutsch Opens Up About His Painful Path to Success
Reality star Israel Deutsch opened up in an emotional video about overcoming extreme hardship, poverty, severe anxiety, and a difficult divorce before finding fame.

Israel Deutsch, who rose to fame as a star of the matchmaking show "Wort" on Reshet 13, opened his heart in an emotional social media video speaking out against jealousy and the "evil eye" directed at him since becoming a well-known figure. Deutsch reminded his followers that the path to success was paved with severe hardships.
"Whoever envies me now, let them envy me when I scrubbed stairs at age 13 just to have something to eat," Deutsch shared with rare candor. He revealed that he suffered from severe anxiety, wet his bed every night until age 14, underwent open-heart surgery in intensive care at age 20, and by age 23 found himself divorced with two young children, tens of thousands of shekels in debt, and working four jobs simultaneously. "Never envy what someone else has, you never know what they went through to get there," he concluded.
As recalled, Deutsch, who is now married to Maayan Ruth Shalom whom he met on the show, previously revealed that his divorce from his previous wife involved heavy legal drama, including a police investigation into suspected violence opened against him amid disputes over visitation times during reserve duty. Following a lengthy legal battle, the case against him was completely closed due to a lack of guilt, with him firmly clarifying that he never raised a hand.
