Israel Wins Team Gold at Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships
The Israeli acrobatic gymnastics team won gold in the Team Award at the World Championships in Pesaro, Italy, scoring 88 points ahead of Russia and the US.
The Israeli acrobatic gymnastics national team won the gold medal in the Team Award at the FIG Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships held in Pesaro, Italy. Following the preliminary rounds and the tally of the top three teams, Israel claimed first place with 88 points, ahead of Russia and the United States, which scored 81 points each.
The Israeli success was propelled by standout performances across multiple categories. The women's pair of Shiraz Sokolovsky and Rony Cohen, coached by Yanai Kalfa, advanced to multiple finals alongside the men's foursome of Liyad Madar, Eran Rodnay, Liran Cohen, and Yevgeny Pinchukov, coached by Lider Dana. Additional strong performances were delivered by the women's trio of Ori Dekel, Rony Rotman, and Arad Abir Deutch, as well as pairs and groups representing leading Israeli clubs.
"What an exciting way to start the holiday of Sukkot with the Israeli flag at the top of the podium at the World Championships. The gold in the team competition is an achievement of an entire delegation and a strong sport, reflecting the dedicated professional work done day in and day out in our clubs," said Avi Sagi, Chairman of the Israel Gymnastics Federation.
Alongside the team gold, the Israeli delegation secured numerous qualifications for the individual and all-around finals across dynamic and balance routines, cementing Israel's status as a powerhouse in international acrobatic gymnastics.
