Iran Deploys Afghan Shiite Militia Liwa Fatemiyoun to Eastern Provinces

Iran has deployed fighters from the Afghan-Shiite militia Liwa Fatemiyoun in the eastern part of the country, according to reports. The pro-Iranian militia, which previously operated during the Syrian civil war, has integrated this deployment into the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' overall strategy.

Sources indicate that the militia serves as a reserve force for internal security and suppression of potential uprisings. The deployment is concentrated in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, a region known for activity by Sunni Baluch insurgent groups.

According to reports, several Basij bases have been handed over to Liwa Fatemiyoun to handle potential domestic unrest. Analysts suggest foreign militias are utilized when local security forces hesitate to act against the civilian population.
