Incident in Qusra: Soldiers throw women's and girls' clothing from a house window
According to the Yesh Din organization, three women and two girls who have been displaced from their homes for days requested to receive clothing from the compound where the army is operating. Following an appeal to the Legal Advisor for Judea and Samaria, soldiers were documented throwing the clothing out of a window. Yesh Din described the act as a "campaign of deliberate abuse."
Unusual footage from Qusra in Samaria was published on Thursday, showing clothing being thrown from the window of a house currently under military seizure and occupied by IDF soldiers. According to the Yesh Din organization, the items belong to three women and two girls from local families who have been displaced from their homes for several days.
According to the organization, the families have been under severe restrictions for nearly two weeks, amid tensions surrounding their homes and the establishment of a nearby outpost. Last week, it was reported that the IDF had deployed forces in the area and converted houses into temporary outposts, with the army stating that the activity was intended to protect residents.
Yesh Din reports that family members requested that the army allow them to transfer clothing to the women and girls who cannot reach their homes. The organization appealed to the Legal Advisor for Judea and Samaria regarding the matter today. Shortly thereafter, it claims, soldiers stationed in one of the houses threw the clothing out of a window. In the footage filmed by Luay Abu Ridi, items of clothing are seen flying out of the structure.
"Instead of helping and protecting, the army is abusing the families," Yesh Din stated in response.
The organization maintains that the families are not suspected of any crime and that the imposed restrictions prevent them from leaving freely or receiving supplies and guests. "Throwing the clothes is adding insult to injury in what appears to be a campaign of deliberate abuse," the organization claimed.
The incident occurs against the backdrop of ongoing tensions in the Qusra area over the past two weeks. On August 10, it was reported that three Palestinian family homes were cut off from the village following the establishment of an outpost branch nearby. The head of the Qusra council claimed at the time that access to the homes was blocked and that they had been cut off from electricity and food supplies. Subsequently, the army declared the area a closed military zone and deployed forces there.
