They made Ronaldo laugh: Fans stormed the wrong wedding
What was supposed to be the happiest day in the lives of Fabio and Fatima, a Portuguese couple living in France, turned into a completely surreal scene: thousands of fans and journalists crowded yesterday (Saturday) outside the Funchal Cathedral on the island of Madeira, convinced that they were about to witness the wedding of the year of football star Cristiano Ronaldo and his partner Georgina Rodriguez.

The congestion and commotion were so heavy that the Rolls-Royce carrying the bride struggled to make its way to the church. An enthusiastic crowd surrounded the car in an attempt to catch a glimpse of the bride, convinced that it was Georgina. Soon, family members and guests were forced to shout at the crowd and photographers: "This is not Georgina, Fabio is not Ronaldo!".
After the ceremony ended, representatives of the cathedral admitted that they had never encountered such an event: "It was very difficult for the bride to enter, but in the end, we managed to close the doors and celebrate". The star's family also did not remain indifferent: Ronaldo's sister, Elma Aveiro, attacked the rumors spread in the media on social networks, while Ronaldo himself reacted to the reports online with laughing emojis.
As recalled, Ronaldo previously noted in an interview that he and Rodriguez plan to get married after the World Cup tournament. Although the Portuguese national team was eliminated this summer in the round of 16 against Spain, it seems that the fans and the media in Madeira jumped the gun and decided that the long-awaited moment had already arrived.
