An Israel Electric Corporation employee performing maintenance work on Mount Zin rescued a stork that had collapsed due to the intense heat, which reached 41 degrees. The employee provided initial care in the field until the bird could be handed over to the Israel Nature and Parks Authority.
The incident occurred during routine work on high-voltage lines in the south. The employee noticed a stork struggling to continue its migration due to the extreme dryness and high temperatures, having stopped near the work site.
To prevent danger to the bird's life, the employee gave it water, spread a parasol over it for protection from the sun, and waited by its side until professional help arrived.
After the bird showed initial signs of recovery, an Israel Nature and Parks Authority inspector summoned to the scene collected the stork for further treatment and rehabilitation. The Authority noted that if you encounter an injured wild animal, you should report it to the hotline at *3639 and act according to the instructions provided.
