An IDF engineering vehicle struck a Hezbollah explosive device in the security zone of southern Lebanon on Saturday, resulting in minor injuries to two soldiers. The injured troops were evacuated for medical treatment, and their families have been notified.
In response, the IDF launched retaliatory airstrikes targeting several Hezbollah terror infrastructures across southern Lebanon. According to the military, the targets included observation posts and operational sites utilized by operatives to advance attacks against Israeli forces.
"IDF forces continue to be deployed in the security zone in southern Lebanon in accordance with the agreement," the military stated. "The IDF will continue operating forcefully against recurring attempts by the Hezbollah terror organization to harm our forces." This incident follows a clash on September 7, when a Golani Reconnaissance patrol engaged and eliminated a Hezbollah operative in the Beaufort area, leaving two soldiers with minor injuries.
