IDF forces maintain maximum alert across the West Bank following shooting incidents and settler clashes, deploying reinforced units ahead of Yom Kippur and upcoming holidays.
Al-Jazeera and the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported Saturday that shots were fired toward Palestinian homes in the village of al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, with clashes breaking out between settlers and Palestinians. The IDF stated that a shooting attack targeted an Israeli vehicle near the village, close to the Metzad David farm. Security forces conducted searches and imposed roadblocks on the village.
Police reported opening an investigation into a violent attack against a Palestinian woman beaten with a club near Khirbat Markaz in the southern Hebron Hills. The suspect fled the scene, and police searches are ongoing. Meanwhile, the IDF continues its high-alert posture and counterterrorism operations in the West Bank following Rosh Hashanah, deploying the Nahal Brigade for targeted raids.
Over recent months, forces have searched more than 1,200 structures, uncovering an explosives manufacturing laboratory, and armored personnel carriers were recently deployed around Nablus. The security establishment remains at maximum readiness ahead of Yom Kippur, Sukkot, and Simchat Torah, as thousands of visitors are expected in the West Bank during the holidays.
