IDF Targets De Facto Hamas Leader Ali al-Amoudi in Gaza Strike
The IDF targeted Ali al-Amoudi, the de facto leader of Hamas in Gaza and deputy head of its political bureau, three years after the October 7 massacre.

Three years after the events of October 7, the IDF targeted Ali al-Amoudi, the deputy head of Hamas's political bureau and the de facto leader running the Gaza Strip. The results of the strike remain unclear.
Leadership and Deception Strategy
Al-Amoudi led Hamas's deception plan regarding disarmament and the transfer of civil governance to a technocratic committee led by Nickolay Mladenov. Formerly the head of Hamas's propaganda department, he rose to prominence after the elimination of Yahya Sinwar.
Al-Amoudi was entrusted with running the Gaza Strip alongside other close associates of Sinwar, solidifying his absolute control over the terrorist organization's political and military apparatus.
Internal Power Struggles
His rise triggered internal friction within Hamas. Critics accused him of bypassing internal procedures by replacing injured officials and dismissing those who abandoned responsibilities during the war. He also competed with Nizar Awadallah for the formal leadership position in Gaza.
