Two IDF soldiers were severely and moderately injured on Friday evening after a grenade was improperly thrown during an operational activity in southern Lebanon. The IDF Spokesperson's Unit cleared the information for publication on Sunday morning.

The incident took place at approximately 8:30 PM in the southern Lebanese village of Majdal Zoun. A force from the Gefen Battalion, operating in the sector under the 91st Division, was conducting an operation when one of the soldiers improperly threw a grenade. The explosion injured the soldier who threw the grenade, as well as another soldier accompanying him.

The wounded troops—a conscript soldier who was seriously injured and a combat officer who sustained moderate wounds—received initial medical treatment in the field before being evacuated to Rambam Health Campus in Haifa. The IDF is investigating the circumstances of the incident, including the throwing technique used and whether the grenade struck an object upon release.

In a separate incident on Friday in southern Lebanon, eight IDF soldiers sustained minor injuries in an operational vehicle collision between two military vehicles. The injured soldiers were evacuated to a hospital for medical treatment, and their families were notified. The circumstances of this incident are also under investigation.
