The Technology and Logistics Directorate of the IDF launched a 12-day military equipment return campaign on Sunday. Regular service members, reservists, and civilians are permitted to return any type of military property without identification and without facing criminal or disciplinary proceedings.

The initiative follows a security breach over the weekend in which an unidentified suspect stole a military Humvee from the parking lot of the Julis base. The Military Police Criminal Investigation Division has launched a search for the stolen vehicle.

Data indicates that approximately ten Humvee vehicles have been stolen from military bases since the outbreak of the Iron Swords war, with most thefts occurring during the early stages of the conflict and throughout 2024. Military officials hope the amnesty campaign will facilitate the recovery of the missing vehicles.

In an official response, the IDF stated that it continues to combat the theft of equipment and weaponry. Authorities emphasized that these are isolated incidents and that the military does not identify a broad phenomenon regarding Humvee thefts, noting that the ongoing investigation into the Julis incident remains active.
