The IDF arrested Palestinian-American journalist Naaka Hamed at an improvised checkpoint near Tekoa, southeast of Bethlehem. Military sources stated that Hamed works for an Iranian media outlet and faces incriminating evidence regarding cooperation with the enemy, alongside potential espionage suspicions.
Iranian media confirmed the detention of the Press TV correspondent, whose channel also broadcasts reports in Hebrew via Telegram. Hamed's family claimed she was detained while returning from covering events in the West Bank and alleged she had been targeted by Israeli platforms following her coverage in Qusra.
Press TV reported that Hamed was traveling with a camera crew when Israeli forces stopped them at the checkpoint. Security personnel searched the team, detained Hamed, and released the cameramen. The network noted she was previously injured in December while reporting live from the Qalandiya refugee camp.
