"Hypocrisy": Avi Maoz addressed the Adika controversy and the singer Odia
After it was revealed that tickets for her concerts were sold on Saturday on Ticketmaster and a wave of criticism arose, MK Avi Maoz backs the singer who caused the closure of the "Adika" website over the weekend.
Chairman of the Noam party, Member of Knesset Avi Maoz, gives full backing to the singer and presenter Odia Azulay, and launches a sharp attack against the wave of criticism directed at her. The remarks come at the height of the storm surrounding the decision of the fashion chain "Adika" to close its sales website on Saturday at Azulay's request, and the claims of hypocrisy leveled against her after it was revealed that tickets for her concerts continued to be sold over the weekend on the "Ticketmaster" website.
In response to calls on social media to boycott brands and businesses that close their doors on Saturday, Maoz attacked on his X account and claimed that it is a double standard by the critics:
"It is amazing to see the hypocrisy of the Left. Those who preach 'tolerance' and 'inclusion' all day, are outraged when a private business chooses to close on Saturday."
Maoz chose to strengthen the singer personally and added: "Odia, you are a daughter of faith, be strong and courageous for the decision to close on Saturday. In a Jewish state, one does not need to apologize for being Jewish. Even in Israel, you are free to be a Jew."
The firm response of the Noam chairman comes as a counterweight to the growing criticism on the networks, which included pointed questions from food critic Niv Gilboa and pointing out the gap between the closing of the fashion site and the active ticket sales during the Sabbath. From Maoz's perspective, the attempt to criticize the singer for her faith and the brand's commercial decision is a hypocritical campaign, and the very willingness to observe the Sabbath is a welcome step that one should not apologize for.
