Eighth signing for Bnei Sakhnin: Loai Halaf joins on a two-year contract
The 25-year-old striker, who barely played in the last two years at Maccabi Netanya and scored only one league goal for them, has joined Yossi Abukasis's renewed squad.
Loai Halaf, who barely played in the last two years for Maccabi Netanya and recently trained with Ironi Tiberias as a free agent, signed a two-year contract this evening (Monday) with Bnei Sakhnin. The 25-year-old striker scored only one goal in 26 league appearances for the 'Diamonds', against Maccabi Bnei Reineh in December 2024. In fact, he has not participated in any match since September.
Halaf grew up at Ironi Nesher and also played for Hapoel Acre, but his breakthrough came at Maccabi Bnei Reineh. He was part of the club's historic promotion to the Premier League, and in three seasons with them, he scored seven league goals in 84 appearances. In the summer of 2024, he signed with the Romanian club UTA Arad, but was released after about two months and joined Maccabi Netanya.
Halaf is the eighth player to join Bnei Sakhnin this summer, following Amit Kardi from Hapoel Kfar Shalem, Raul Belberau from Petrolul, Sane Gomes from Hapoel Haifa, Iyad Abu Abaid from Maccabi Bnei Reineh, Modestas Vorobjovas from Istanbulspor, Niv Livnat from M.S. Kiryat Yam, and Norberto Carlos from Akritas.
