The Home Front Command recently held strategic discussions on preparing the Israeli public for a joint US-Israeli strike on Iran and potential retaliatory missile fire. Led by Home Front Command chief Maj. Gen. Shai Kalper, the meetings focused on refining public alert protocols based on previous escalations.

Israel has faced direct military exchanges with Iran five times, including the large-scale missile barrages in April and October 2024, offensive operations dubbed "Lion" and "Roar of the Lion," and a brief 17-hour conflict in June. During proactive Israeli strikes, the Home Front Command deployed a multi-layered alert system involving sirens, mobile emergency alerts, emergency broadcasts, and live televised briefings.

A military official noted that future responses will rely on predefined regional polygons established during the "Roar of the Lion" operation. This targeted approach ensures that shelter directives are limited strictly to areas facing immediate risk, minimizing disruption to the broader civilian population.

"We have evaluated a range of scenarios and determined how to alert the public for each one," a military source stated. "Commanders have a comprehensive suite of tools at their disposal, ranging from full-scale sirens and mobile alerts to localized partial warnings, ensuring the home front is adequately prepared for any contingency."
