A violent altercation broke out near a temporary structure in Holon this week as dozens of animal rights activists gathered to protest suspected dog abuse. Police forces were dispatched to separate the opposing sides amid heavy accusations and widely shared social media footage.

The incident was sparked by a security camera video circulating online, which captured an individual spraying K300 pesticide directly at a dog. The Shanti Farm rescue and rehabilitation association, which published the footage, alleged that the structure's occupants systematically abused animals and even stepped on newborn puppies shortly after birth.

Following the video, a group of about 15 activists arrived at the Holon location. A mass brawl quickly developed, featuring shouting, verbal abuse, and mutual threats between the activists and the residents whose faces were blurred in the clips. Activists shouted slogans including "We will not let this go, You are abusers," and "You will not do whatever you want here."

Police officers rushed to the scene to push back the demonstrators and physically blocked the entrance to the building. Amid efforts to regain control, activists directed harsh accusations at the police, claiming they were protecting the suspects. Demonstrators shouted, "Why are you guarding them?" and alleged that officers used excessive force against a female activist.

Shouts of "She is pregnant" echoed through the crowd, and accompanying text published by the association claimed that a police officer shoved the woman and drew a taser against her. While footage captured shoving and the use of flashlights by officers, it did not clearly show the deployment of a taser.
