President Herzog Hosts Miluim Badge Event to Support IDF Reservists
President Isaac Herzog hosted the "Miluim Badge" initiative event, emphasizing the critical need for government support and long-term policies to protect the employment security of IDF reservists.

President Isaac Herzog hosted the "Miluim Badge" event on Sunday, focusing on the shared responsibility between the state and employers to safeguard the employment security of reservists and their families.
Supporting Employers and Reservists
The central focus of the gathering was the understanding that the resilience of employers is a fundamental prerequisite for maintaining a strong reserve system over time. The event highlighted the necessity of government partnership to help businesses shoulder this national responsibility.
The event was attended by President Isaac Herzog and his wife Michal, venture capitalist, social entrepreneur, and founder of the "Miluim Badge" initiative Yasmin Lukatch, alongside CEOs, senior executives from the business sector, and leaders of reservist organizations.
Long-Term Policy Challenges
Key issues discussed included prolonged absences, hiring temporary replacements, and disruptions to business continuity. These challenges demand a transition from ad-hoc measures to a long-term policy that provides employers with the necessary tools to recruit, retain, and promote reservists.
"As long as there is no equality in the burden, the state must recognize that responsibility for the reserve system does not end with the soldier at the front," said Yasmin Lukatch during the event.
Participants reviewed proposed government incentives, including economic support, tax benefits, grants, and preferences in government tenders, designed to recognize employers as a vital component of the national infrastructure supporting the reserve forces.
