Hendel and Troper Launch Election Campaign: "Building a Zionist Home"
A month after announcing their joint run, former ministers Hili Troper and Yoaz Hendel have launched the "Zionist Home — Reservists" campaign. Hendel reaffirmed his commitment not to help Benjamin Netanyahu reach a 61-seat majority.
Former ministers Hili Troper and Yoaz Hendel launched the campaign for their party, "Zionist Home — Reservists," on Wednesday evening. Opening the conference, Troper stated: "We set out just a month ago with tremendous determination to establish a political force that will lead to the formation of a Zionist government. That is the goal."
Hendel announced his intention to serve as Minister of National Security in the next government, describing the current situation in the sector as "our eighth front—and we are losing it."
In his address, Troper remarked:
"This voice will decide what the next government looks like, what its priorities are, and what it does for Israeli society. On October 7, the people of Israel saved the country. Israelis embodied 'love your neighbor as yourself,' without asking about political affiliations. When our brothers and sisters are in distress, we surge forward to help. Unfortunately, the gap between the 'Israel below' and the 'Israel above' remains. The political power we have built is meant to echo and expand the good that already exists within our people."
Hendel criticized the government's fiscal priorities, referencing the Supreme Court's decision to invalidate funds transferred to institutions that encourage draft evasion. "How do you create governance? The story of this country begins and ends with its human capital—the people who left their homes to save the country on October 7 while the government hid in bunkers," he stated.
The party presented the "Shield of David" plan, covering seven core areas: education, equal service, cost of living, settlement, checks and balances, governance, and the revival of communities along the conflict line.
Regarding military and national service, Hendel and Troper propose a unified screening center to integrate every citizen into service based on their abilities. The platform includes expanded benefits for reservists, such as land purchase subsidies and full tuition funding for higher education.
Addressing the possibility of joining a government led by Benjamin Netanyahu, Hendel was firm: "I am 100% convinced that it is forbidden to establish a 61-seat government with Netanyahu, and it is forbidden to partner with non-Zionist parties. I believe Netanyahu should go home, and I will never agree to help him reach 61 seats."
