Hapoel Jerusalem defeated Hapoel Tel Aviv 70-60 to claim the top spot in the standings and hand Dimitris Itoudis his first league defeat of the season.
Hapoel Jerusalem delivered a strong statement of intent on Sunday, defeating Hapoel Tel Aviv 70-60 at Drive In Arena to claim the top spot in the standings, maintain a perfect record, and hand Dimitris Itoudis his first league defeat.
Sasa Obradovic's squad excelled even without the injured Jared Harper, as Shake Milton, Jalen Smith, and Kenny Lofton Jr. led the charge. The victory allows Jerusalem to prepare with confidence for their upcoming EuroCup clash against Le Mans.
Following the match, standout performer Shake Milton reflected on the team's performance:
"Defensively we were focused, we controlled the rebounds, and we have a great crowd that helped us win. We are trying to stay together as one unit, share the ball, get stops, and good things will happen."
Milton added that while the team maintains high ambitions, they are taking the season step by step.
