Inter Milan Edges Fiorentina 2-1 with Late Stoppage-Time Comeback
Inter Milan secured a dramatic 2-1 victory over Fiorentina with two stoppage-time goals at San Siro, moving level with Lazio at the top of the table after eight rounds.

Inter Milan extended its unbeaten league run in dramatic fashion on Sunday, securing a 2-1 comeback victory over Fiorentina at San Siro with two goals in stoppage time. The result moves the champions level on 22 points with surprising league leaders Lazio after eight matches.
Head coach Cristian Chivu opted for squad rotation following European commitments, and his side struggled to break down a resilient Fiorentina defense marshaled by goalkeeper David de Gea. The visitors capitalized in the 65th minute when former Milan defender Álex Jiménez unleashed a stunning long-range strike to break the deadlock and put Inter's streak in serious jeopardy.
Chivu responded by introducing Ange-Yoan Bonny and Federico Dimarco from the bench, ramping up the pressure on the visitors. The equalizer arrived in the first minute of stoppage time when Marcus Thuram combined neatly with Andy Diouf before beating de Gea with a precise shot.
Just four minutes later, Thuram was brought down inside the area to win a decisive penalty. Piotr Zieliński stepped up to convert from the spot, completing a stunning turnaround and ensuring the champions maintained their unbeaten domestic run. The defeat is Fiorentina's third consecutive loss and fifth of the league campaign, leaving them with two wins, one draw, and five defeats.
