Hapoel Tel Aviv Mocks Yam Madar on Instagram After Derby Blowout Win
Hapoel Tel Aviv mocked former player Yam Madar on Instagram using a song by his ex-girlfriend, following their 105-87 derby blowout over Maccabi Tel Aviv.

The first Tel Aviv derby of the season delivered a one-sided blowout on the parquet, yet the fierce rivalry between the city's two basketball giants continues to ignite headlines far beyond the arena. Hapoel Tel Aviv found a remarkably creative way to maintain momentum, targeting their former guard Yam Madar on social media with a surprising musical choice involving his ex-girlfriend, singer Mor Regev.
The official Instagram account of the red club published a teaser video captioned: "There is a comeback here, and it is not messing around." The screen featured the team's new point guard and former yellow-and-blue player, Tamir Blatt, while a song by Regev played in the background. The musical selection was far from coincidental, being quickly interpreted as a direct and deliberate dig at Madar, who this past summer chose to leave the red club and cross town directly to the bitter rival.
This digital jab unfolds against the backdrop of a resounding 105-87 victory for Hapoel Tel Aviv over Maccabi Tel Aviv at the Menora Mivtachim Arena. Vasilije Micic starred above all with 31 points, including nine three-pointers out of 13 attempts, alongside 18 points from Antonio Blakeney. Tamir Blatt contributed nine points in nearly 12 minutes during his debut in red against his former team and Madar.
The defeat deepened coach Oded Kattash's crisis with a fifth consecutive loss across all competitions, while Dimitris Itoudis' squad dominated for 36 minutes to claim a prestigious win and improve to a 3-1 league record. Madar, long considered a prominent symbol of Hapoel, triggered massive tension over the summer by paying a 300,000-dollar buyout to join the yellow rivals, turning the digital warfare into another chapter of this historic basketball feud.
