Hanoch Rosenn returning to religion? "I am still looking for Him"
The legendary director of massive shows and pantomimist celebrated 50 years of creativity and revealed a picture of the Baba Sali and books of Psalms in his home. In a candid conversation with News 13, he spoke about memories from his father's house, his humanistic perception, and the spiritual search that never ends.
The director of massive shows and legendary pantomimist Hanoch Rosenn hosted Shay Golden from News 13 at his home for a special video report marking 50 years of an extensive career. Alongside memories and souvenirs from the Festigal and performances in Las Vegas and Eilat, Rosenn revealed a particularly soft and surprising side, as a picture of the Baba Sali was discovered on a shelf in his home next to candles and books of Psalms.
"I went with it then, I go with it today," Rosenn explained openly that he does not rule out any custom that brings comfort and strength to a believer. His connection to tradition comes from his childhood home, where his father used to conduct a dramatic Kiddush that required all family members to stand. From his perspective, his worldview is expressed first and foremost in the daily aspiration to be a good person, to do good deeds, and to stay away from combativeness while wanting to listen and understand even those who do not agree with him.
When asked directly if he defines himself as a religious person or as someone who holds a belief in God, the veteran creator avoided definitive statements. Rosenn chose to leave his spiritual journey open and concluded honestly: "I don't know, I am still looking for Him."
